This is the first time in ten years that we wont be celebrating Chinese New Year in Singapore.
Being the Year of the Dragon, its an auspicious year for the Dragon Born . Dragon years also tend to boost individual fortunes and the world economy.Here is the dragon calendar:
16 February 1904 – 3 February 1905: Wood Dragon
3 February 1916 – 22 January 1917: Fire Dragon
23 January 1928 – 9 February 1929: Earth Dragon
8 February 1940 – 26 January 1941: Metal Dragon

Of all the Dragon years, the 2012 Water Dragon is most likely to bestow the Chinese Five Blessings of harmony, virtue, riches, fulfillment and longevity, adding even more weight to the growing belief that 2012 will be about breakthroughs, not disasters.
So I guess we are in for more fortunes than losses, less disasters and more health. My advance wishes for a very auspicious year of the Dragon which starts January 23,2012 to all my Chinese Friends in Singapore.
